Windang is a lovely little seaside and lakeside village on the border of the cities of Shellharbour and Wollongong. It is a popular destination with Sydneysiders who are attracted by the views and fishing spots. It is also the location of the Thai Gardens restaurant where we had a lovely lunch.
Chicken Satay skewers – tender pieces of chicken on skewers with a peanut satay sauce
Crying Tiger – tender strips of beef with a delicious dipping sauce featuring lime juice, fish sauce and coriander.
Lamb with yellow curry sauce ($15.90)
Homock Talay – Red curry Seafood with coconut milk and thai herbs ($16.90)
BBQ duck salad
I loved the colour scheme. It was a relaxing, calming venue with touches of Thailand adoring the walls including carved elephant heads, waterfalls, painting of a Thai village with boats travelling to market with fresh produce and other elements.
